Consisted of the replacement of the existing Harry W. Nice Thomas “MAC” Middleton Bridge. Led design efforts of both roadway approaches (Maryland and Virginia) along US 301 to the new bridge as well as realignment of existing service roads to maintain access to adjacent properties. Roadway improvements included new pavement construction and rehabilitation of existing roadway pavements, closed/open drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, roadway intersection lighting, signing and pavement markings, culvert extensions and/or replacement, and removal of the existing toll plaza and E-Z Pass lanes and design of gantries and overhead sign structures. Received a DBIA 2023 National Merit Award in Transportation.
