The Zion Crossroads diverging diamond interchange was the first DDI opened in the Virginia Commonwealth. Served as a subject matter expert on innovative interchanges in converting the existing conventional diamond interchange into the DDI configuration. Made significant contributions during the bid and design phase with improving the interchange’s operation and safety. Developed the DDI concept that produced a smaller interchange footprint and provided additional traffic capacity through the interchange at a lower cost.
